A conversation. A starting point. A way forward.

The learning journey

Five steps, shaped around you

This is the approach, not a fixed programme. The pace and focus depend on the individual learner.

  1. Step 1: Start a conversation

A quick WhatsApp message is all it takes. You can share a year group, a tricky topic, an exam goal or simply that Maths has started to feel overwhelming.

  2. Step 2: Find the starting point

The first step is understanding the learner, not making assumptions. Talk through strengths, learning gaps and confidence, alongside any school or exam requirements.

  3. Step 3: Make it personal

Focus on what matters to you. That might be strengthening the basics, working on a specific topic, preparing for an exam or becoming more comfortable with everyday numbers.

  4. Step 4: Practise with purpose

Explore concepts and problem-solving together, then practise applying them. Follow-up resources help keep the learning going between sessions.

  5. Step 5: Grow in confidence

The aim is to feel more confident and independent with Maths, one manageable step at a time. Progress looks different for each learner; no particular result is guaranteed.

Make it work for you

Online or locally in person

Both options are interactive and tailored to the learner, with follow-up resources to revisit between lessons.

Online tuition

Discuss the online arrangements, any equipment needed and a suitable time directly with Ms B.

In-person tuition

Available for local learners. The service area is not currently published, so please check your location and availability with Ms B before making plans.

Agree the details together

Ask about pricing, session length and frequency when you enquire. Evening or weekend arrangements can be discussed, subject to availability.

What to share

Your first message can be simple.

You do not need a detailed assessment or a perfect description of the problem. A few helpful details are enough to start.

  • Whether the enquiry is for a child, a GCSE student or an adult.
  • The learner's year group or course, if relevant.
  • The topics that feel tricky, or the goal you have in mind.
  • Whether you are interested in online or in-person tuition.
  • Any availability you would like to discuss.
