Maths revision planner: a simple weekly approach

Plan manageable practice around your real week, with time to review and adjust.

One idea.
A little clearer.

Start with the week you actually have

Write down school, work, other subjects and personal commitments before allocating Maths revision. Leave room for breaks and changes of plan.

Choose a small number of specific goals. 'Practise adding fractions with different denominators' gives you a clearer task than 'revise Maths'.

A simple planning template

Copy these headings into a notebook or a document. This is a written guide, not an online planner that saves your work.

  • Day and available practice time.
  • One topic or question type to focus on.
  • The resource or questions you will use.
  • How you will check your working.
  • One thing to revisit next time.

Balance new practice with review

Include time to return to earlier topics and corrected mistakes. If every session begins something new, you may miss the chance to strengthen ideas that still need practice.

When appropriate, include mixed questions or exam-style practice that asks you to choose a method, rather than knowing the topic before you start.

Review the plan, without judging yourself

At the end of the week, note what you completed and what became clearer. If something took longer than expected, use that information to make the next plan more realistic.

If a topic remains unclear after practice, ask for an explanation rather than allocating more of the same questions. Your plan should respond to what you need.
